About Our Founder
Linda Kay Purcell holds a Bachelor's of Science in Music Education from Southwest Texas State University and a Master's in Counseling from Wayland Baptist University. Linda's musical background is extensive. Linda began playing piano at age 5. While attending Southwest Texas State University, Linda studied under pianist, Dr. Frances Webb. Linda's 2 instruments of study for her Bachelor's degree were piano and voice.
In her younger years, Linda performed with the San Antonio Children's Chorus and the San Antonio Youth Choir. Linda continued her piano studies in elementary school, junior high and high school. Linda studied voice 4 years at Southwest Texas State University. Linda's musical experience includes Carnegie Hall where she sang The Psalm of David in Latin, performing with the Southwest Texas State Choral Alumni Association.

Linda endorses the concept that music is a universal language, a human form of expression that crosses cultural barriers and unites people of all backgrounds. Linda considers music to be a vital component in life. Linda endorses the concept that music is necessary for maintaining health, balance and well-being in life. Linda believes that by incorporating music into everyday life people will experience a more positive life journey. Linda puts her heart and soul into sharing music and teaching piano. Linda's knowledge of music education and music theory enable her to instruct and equip students with the tools needed to become expressive pianists. Linda's teaching philosophy endorses the belief that each student is unique in their learning experience.
Linda is a member of the San Antonio Musical Club, a nonprofit organization where she serves as Program Director. Linda is also a member of the San Antonio Women's Club. Linda is a longtime supporter of philanthropy in the city of Sam Antonio. Linda is known for her generosity and helping others. In 2022, Linda received the "Outstanding Volunteer of the Year" award from the San Antonio Federation of Women for her philanthropy work with the San Antonio Musical Club which raises scholarship funds for the students at University of Texas San Antonio School of Music. Linda's creative spirit, her desire to teach and share music, her passion for piano and love of classical music make her a unique piano instructor.
